Our small town has a terrific used, antiquarian, and rare bookstore. Hermit Hill Books is on Main Street and is fun to stop in, look around and buy a book one has been meaning to read or a book that looks interesting. Patty McWilliams, the proprietor, always has an interesting and varied selection of books onhand. There really is something for everyone in her store.

Hermit Hill Books, 95 Main Street, Poultney, Vermont. Open Tues-Sat 10-5 and in summer months Sundays 10-5.

Patty McWilliams.

What better way to spend an afternoon than sitting in a comfy chair and looking at books.

Bookstore cats looking out the window.

The books go on and on and on. Such fun to browse.

Interesting displays.

My favorite is the glass check out counter. The wall behind it is covered with old movie posters. So inviting.

What a great looking bookstore. If I lived around it, I definitely can envision spending lots of hours in it! :)
