Okinawa - Churaumi Aquarium

The Churaumi Aquarium was an unanimous "must see while in Okinawa" for us. It's location overlooking the ocean in Northern Okinawa was a bonus and we had a fun time that day.

I couldn't resist beginning this photo essay with a triple exposure Holga photo of the Churaumi Aquarium banner.

Inside the aquarium.

A colorful fish and if one looks around there are other things to see too.

Underwater caterpillar looking creatures were more colorful than the land variety we have in Vermont.

The big tank with the big fish. Most photos I've seen of the Aquarium have a varation of this photo and here's mine.

There was a restaurant where one could sit and have lunch while watching all sizes of fish swim by.

Wonderful markings and color on this fish.

A Holga photo of the banner and outside of the Aquarium.

Cool pics, sbk. Re the underwater slugs: remember seeing them on the glass bottom boat ride too? :)

hi ytsl,

Thanks. Yes, it was creepy & fun seeing them "in the wild" on the glass bottom boat ride ;-)
