Tuscan Dinner Party











Frances Mayes books about living in Tuscany are delightful and always popular with customers at the Northshire Bookstore where I work.  The staff was very excited when her cookbook The Tuscan Sun Cookbook was published.  Now we could make some of the delicious sounding dishes she described in her books.  We decided to have a staff dinner party one evening in the store after we closed.  Each of us selected one or two or three recipes to make and we ate and ate and ate and ate some more.

Leg of lamb, Caprese and Eggplant Parmigiana

Dessert medley

The medley of folded fruit tart with mascarpone, biscotti, ricotta tart and a delicious vegan chocolate cake (not in the cookbook) was more than I could eat after all the other dishes so I took small bite of each (sorry no photo) and ate the rest over the next two days.  Such a delicious meal with great coworkers.

That looks like an amazing spread! Love Eggplant Parmigiana -- and was so glad to discover it on the menu of an Italian eatery I tried for the first time this past Tuesday here in Hong Kong. And mmmm re mascarpone... though I like it best mixed with fish guts (yes, really!). ;b
